Dream Symbol: Snakes

With how much the enemy has tried to prevent this post, I believe that this is going to be a game-changer for so many of you that are reading this. As I was typing this a woman was standing nearby in the restaurant that was talking nonstop, swearing, very loud and boisterous and opinionated. It was very distracting. I put on worship music and prayed in tongues silently reclaiming the atmosphere and she left. Then as I was typing this the entire page deleted and the post with it. After that, I started to finish it and edit it and it disappeared again. I heard the Holy Spirit say, "Control z." I pressed it and nothing happened. Good thing for me though, I am persistent. When the Holy Spirit says to do something, I do it until it works. 23 control z's later and I got everything back. without further ado, here's the blog that the enemy so didn't want you to see.

There is not a single person that I have met that hasn't had a dream with a snake in it at some point. Most of the time people will tell us about snakes in their dreams that are chasing them, biting them, or trying wrap around them in some way. Perhaps you, the one reading this blog, has had a dream with a snake in it? Then this is the right place to be to get answers as to what it means.

When determining what a symbol means you want to take a look at the different aspects of the symbol. In this case, let's look at the most prominent parts of the snake starting with the mouth. A snake tries to consume with its mouth. It will also strike and try to deliver its venom with its bite. This indicates in dreams that someone is attacking you with words, trying to consume you with their lies and tales, and trying to get it's demonic/devilish poison into your mind so it can paralyze you or kill you spiritually. Snakes most commonly represent people that are lying or spirits that are attacking you with lies in some way. The myth about snakes is that they are considered to be long "tails" which is a play on the word for tales. This signifies that they are fabricated stories or gossip that is being spoken about you.

Snakes can also represent demons or spirits of witchcraft that are attacking you. The Hebrew word for serpent as used in Genesis 3:2 is Ha-Nahas. This means "The Serpent." In Hebrew, this word also to hiss, or to whisper in a hushed voice which is what serpents do. The word Nachash in Hebrew also means to practice divination, sorcery and reading signs. It means to whisper spells or to practice foretelling the future as a psychic would. This same symbol is understood to mean the same thing in the days of Jesus and the Apostle Paul. In acts 16:16 Paul is met by a woman with a spirit of divination. The Greek word for this spirit is Pythos which is the Greek variant of our Modern word python. So, if you are seeing a snake in a dream and it is negative then it will typically represent Gossip, slander, or witchcraft of some sort.

On the other hand, if a snake is presented to you in a good way then it can mean something that is very observant, cunning, crafty, intelligent, or prudent. We came to this conclusion by looking into the word that was used in Hebrew to describe the snake in Genesis 3:1. The word used for crafty is Aram which means All of what is listed above. Typically, being crafty is used in a negative connotation in the bible, but these days being crafty or having a craft represents having a special skill.

The last things that I would like to point out about snakes in dreams are you need to pay attention to what they are doing and what the color is. Colors will represent the different types of lies that are being told about you or different areas of your life that the enemy is coming against you somehow. For instance, the most common colors I hear regarding snakes in dreams are black, yellow, and green. Black represents a spirit of death or lack of power (in a positive sense it represents hard work and Power), Yellow represents a fearful way of thinking, cowardice, or intellectual pride and green represent a lack of peace, sickness, or your rest and peace in life is being attacked.

That's all that I have to say about snakes for now. If you want to know more about different snakes, their colors, their features and so forth I recommend buying the dream symbol guide. This has a list of snakes and what they mean. It is a very valuable resource to anyone that is attempting to interpret dreams. Be blessed folks.
