Scriptures to Pray to Experience God's Love

Did you know love is mentioned in the Bible over 700 times? It not only mentions the love we have for God, but also how much He loves us, how we are to love others, what happens when we love God, and so much more. We pray these scriptures help you experience the love of God!

Romans 5:8 (AMP)

But God clearly shows and proves His own love for us, by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 8:39 (AMP)

nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the [unlimited] love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Corinthians 2:9 (AMP)

but just as it is written [in Scripture], “Things which the eye has not seen and the ear has not heard, and which have not entered the heart of man, all that God has prepared for those who love Him [who hold Him in affectionate reverence, who obey Him, and who gratefully recognize the benefits that He has bestowed].”

Loving God

Deuteronomy 6:5 (AMP)

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and mind and with all your soul and with all your strength [your entire being].

Deuteronomy 11:22-23 (AMP)

For if you are careful to keep all this commandment which I am commanding you to do, to love the Lord your God, to walk [that is, to live each and every day] in all His ways and to hold tightly to Him— then the Lord will drive out all these nations from before you, and you shall dispossess nations greater and mightier than you.

Luke 7:44-48 (AMP)

Then turning toward the woman, He said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I came into your house [but you failed to extend to Me the usual courtesies shown to a guest]; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has wet My feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair [demonstrating her love]. You gave Me no [welcoming] kiss, but from the moment I came in, she has not ceased to kiss My feet. You did not [even] anoint My head with [ordinary] oil, but she has anointed My feet with [costly and rare] perfume. Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little.” Then He said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”

Romans 8:28 (AMP)

And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.

1 Corinthians 8:2-3 (AMP)

James 1:12 (AMP)

Blessed [happy, spiritually prosperous, favored by God] is the man who is steadfast under trial and perseveres when tempted; for when he has passed the test and been approved, he will receive the [victor’s] crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

James 2:5 (AMP)

Listen, my beloved brothers and sisters: has not God chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and [as believers to be] heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?

Love Others

Matthew 5:44 (AMP)

But I say to you, love [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for] your enemies and pray for those who persecute you...

Matthew 5:46 (AMP)

For if you love [only] those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do that?

Matthew 19:19 (AMP)

"Honor your father and mother; and love your neighbor as yourself” [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for others].

Luke 6:27-28 (AMP)

“But I say to you who hear [Me and pay attention to My words]: Love [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for] your enemies, [make it a practice to] do good to those who hate you, bless and show kindness to those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you."

Luke 6:31-36 (AMP)

Treat others the same way you want them to treat you. If you [only] love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. If you lend [money] to those from whom you expect to receive [it back], what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners expecting to receive back the same amount. But love [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for] your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; for your reward will be great (rich, abundant), and you will be sons of the Most High; because He Himself is kind and gracious and good to the ungrateful and the wicked. Be merciful (responsive, compassionate, tender) just as your [heavenly] Father is merciful.

John 13:34 (AMP)

I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too are to love one another.
